As they say content is king. Why is writing great content so important? First it makes your blog relevant, which means people care and are invested in reading your content. Second it makes it much more likely that you will be able to get repeat visitors. Here are five tips that will help all of your blog posts shine.

#1: Focus on blocks

People hate reading blog posts that drag on and on. That doesn’t mean you can’t create long blog posts. Simply break your content up into smaller pieces by putting in lists, headers and block quotes. The interruptions if you will, will make the blog post seem shorter and will add extra content.
Another way to do this is to make your paragraphs extremely short. In grade school you probably learnt that a paragraph is supposed to be 5 to 6 sentences long. Blogging with paragraphs that long will make your blog posts seem lengthy. Keep them to 2 or 3 sentences long and your post will be able to be read faster, which will make your readers happy.

#2: Make your point early

One thing reader’s hate is finding a blog post that never comes to the point. Hook your readers early by making your point early in the blog post. This can have the added benefit of possibly decreasing your bounce rate. Readers who stick around to read the entire post are more likely to click on internal links.

Tip #3: Pictures are your friends

To go along with tip #1, you should include some visual stimulation for your readers by including some pictures. Pictures not only help break up tedious content, but add value to the content by representing visually what you are trying to express in words. Find pictures that go along with what you are trying to say, instead of adding pictures for the sake of filling the space.

Tip #4: Short, Sweet, and Simple

Use fewer words to express yourself, and use contractions.

Tip #5: Express Yourself, Promote Others

Blogging is the greatest place on the Internet to express your opinion, since that is what blogging is for. That being said, don’t make your blog all about you. Promote other’s content and views. This makes you seem more “with it” and of the world, instead of being a sheltered blogger who doesn’t care. It will also help you come up with better topics, because you can draw from what other’s do and expand upon it.
Writing Great Content is a Must for all Bloggers
Writing great content is hard for everyone. It helps if you know what you want to blog about. To create great content you have to be passionate about your niche and care about the things you are trying to express. If you aren’t passionate and don’t care your readers will notice and won’t care about your content, which totally defeats the purpose of blogging.

Writing Great Content is a blogger’s main job, if you don’t do it, then you aren’t a very good blogger.
